About these guides

How these guides are made.

The rules every page on this site follows, so you can judge it for yourself.

Short answer

Every guide on this site is published by NewsUSA and says so. Each one starts with a short answer, lists any outside sources with the date they were read, and quotes other companies only from their own websites. Prices are not compared. Facts about NewsUSA come from NewsUSA and its campaign reports.

The rules

  1. Short answer first. Each guide opens with a direct answer of 80 words or fewer.
  2. Who published it. Every guide carries a "Published by NewsUSA" line under the title. Pages that compare NewsUSA with other companies say so near the top.
  3. Other companies in their own words. Anything said about another company is quoted from that company's own website, with a link and the date it was read. If a page did not load, the company is left out rather than described from memory.
  4. No price comparisons. Prices change and depend on scope, so the guides do not compare them. The calculator uses only the numbers you enter.
  5. NewsUSA facts you can check. Figures about NewsUSA come from NewsUSA and its campaign reports, which Todd Simon can walk you through on a call.
  6. Dates you can read. Each guide shows when it was last revised. The sitemap date changes automatically whenever the page text changes.
  7. Plain advice, including when not to buy. Where it matters, a guide says when the thing it describes is the wrong tool.

Sources

Near the end of every guide, a box called "How this page was made" says where its facts come from and links each outside source with the date it was read.

Questions

Who publishes these guides?

NewsUSA, a feature-story distribution company founded in 1987 in Falls Church, Virginia by Rick D. Smith.

Why are prices not compared?

Prices change and depend on what is included. The guides compare what each service offers, in its own words, and the calculator lets you compare the quotes you actually receive.
