Comparison

Feature story syndication services, compared.

Six ways to put a brand story on news sites, described in each vendor's own words. Read on November 5, 2026.

Short answer

Feature syndication services place one brand story on many news sites at once. They differ most in whether the number of placements is guaranteed and in what you get back. NewsUSA runs stories on 2,000+ US news sites within 30 days and bills only live placements. Brandpoint states 800+ guaranteed placements. Stacker states an average of 50+ placements. StatePoint states minimum performance guarantees. This page is published by NewsUSA.

NewsUSA

NewsUSA was founded in Falls Church, Virginia in 1987 by Rick D. Smith, who still runs it. A journalist writes a feature story about your company, you approve every word, and it runs on 2,000+ US news sites within 30 days. Every campaign closes with a report listing each placement with a live link, and only live placements are billed. One client campaign in September 2026 ran on 2,637 news sites in under two weeks. Brandpoint

Brandpoint, founded in 1996 and based in Minneapolis, sells an "Editorial story distributed on our fully syndicated network." Its pricing page shows "800+ Guaranteed Placements" and "3,000+ Publications" as headline figures, and its single-story package includes "Placements across a network of 3,000 publications" and a "Distribution report with placement and AI visibility metrics."

StatePoint Media

StatePoint Media describes itself as "a leading consumer content marketing service" that provides its content "free-of-charge to more than 15,000 print, online and radio media outlets across the U.S." Its sponsored features are stories "we develop, distribute & track to thousands of local media outlets," with "Minimum performance guarantees" and "real-time online coverage reports."

Stacker

Stacker "syndicates brand editorial stories across 3,000+ vetted publishers." Its home page does not state a guaranteed count. It states an average instead: "Your story earns 50+ placements on trusted domains on average."

Feature Impact

familyfeatures.com now redirects to Feature Impact, "a division of 4media group, inc." Its home page describes "credible, human-created content optimized for modern discovery across media and AI" and lists "Track and Report Results" as a step. It gives no reach figure or guarantee on that page.

Cision PR Newswire Guaranteed Paid Placement

Cision's product is native advertising, "Powered by NATIVO and STACKADAPT." It says your story "will run on a curated list of publisher web sites you choose" and is "published unchanged as a sponsored article." It is the closest to buying ad space of the six.

What to compare before you choose

  • Guaranteed number, minimum or average. A guaranteed count, a "minimum performance guarantee" and an average are three different promises.
  • What counts as a placement. A live page on a news site, a print outlet in a network and an impression are not the same thing.
  • The report. Ask for a real report from a recent campaign and open the links yourself.
  • Who writes and approves. Know who writes the story and whether you sign off before it goes out.
  • Labeling. Ask how the story appears on the host sites.

Not included

NAPS (North American Precis Syndicate) also distributes feature content to newspapers, but its site did not load for us on November 5, 2026, so it is left out rather than described from memory. Metro Creative Connection's home page describes content subscriptions sold to publishers; its editorial services page did not load, so it is left out too.

Questions

What is feature story syndication?

A service that places one brand story, written as a feature article, on many news sites at once. The industry often calls these stories mat releases.

Which services state a guaranteed number?

Brandpoint's pricing page shows "800+ Guaranteed Placements." StatePoint states "Minimum performance guarantees" and, for its Spanish add-on, a minimum of 600 additional placements. Stacker states an average of 50+ placements, not a guarantee. NewsUSA places stories on 2,000+ US news sites within 30 days and bills only live placements. Ask any vendor what happens if the number is missed.

Are these placements labeled as ads?

It depends on the service and the publisher. Cision says its placements run "as a sponsored article." The other vendors' pages we read do not say how stories are labeled, so ask before you buy.

How should I compare reports?

Ask each vendor for a real report from a recent campaign and open the links. A report you can click through tells you more than a reach figure.

How this page was made

NewsUSA figures (2,000+ US news sites within 30 days, live-only billing, the 2,637-site September 2026 campaign) come from NewsUSA and its campaign reports, which Todd Simon can show you on the call. Every statement about another company is quoted from that company's own website, read on November 5, 2026. Where a page did not state something, the table says so. NAPS is not included because its site did not load; Metro Creative Connection is not included because its home page describes publisher subscriptions and its editorial services page did not load.
